14K and the spas

Organized crime groups from China are seldom if never discussed in Canada and very hard to get intelligence on. Based on that I've read, the largest active triad in both Vancouver and Toronto is the 14K group (十四K). Seems the group is actively involved in shipping raw materials for drugs manufacturing into Canada, as well as the prostitution racket (as in Chinese operated spas). Which makes me wonder how many holistic and semi-legit spas are forced to pay a protection fee to 14K (or other triads). I would find it hard to believe that triads would let hundreds of spas in Ontario operate without getting their hands in the till. Gobally Chinese triads make millions if not billions of the spa racket as per United Nations reports, the majority of which is funneled back to China, so I would assume Canada is not an exception to this.
