CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - Seven more people have been arrested as Chesterfield Police continues its investigation into illicit massage businesses.
Last Thursday, police and the Virginia Capital Area Human Trafficking Task Force conducted undercover stings at various businesses in the county.
The operations took place at:
- Sunshine Health Massage
- Lucky Star Leisure Center
- XL Massage
- Coca Spa
- Aura Massage
Police say they visited other businesses last week, but no charges were filed.
The following seven people were arrested:
- Meizhu Chen, 44, of Flushing, N.Y.
- Saihua Huang, 38, Brooklyn, N.Y.
- Xiuwen Zhang, 56, of Midlothian, Va.
- Jing Jiang, 55, of N. Chesterfield, Va.
- Guoqiang Li, 56, of N. Chesterfield, Va.
- Yun Su, 54, of N. Chesterfield, Va.
- Kun Liu, 54, of no permanent address
“They’ve been wanting to do this for a while, and they are finally getting the opportunity to arrest these individuals and hold them accountable,” Lt. Edward Pierpont with Chesterfield Police said.
All seven people face 22 charges, including prostitution, not having a massage license or permit and keeping a bawdy place.
If you’re thinking about getting a massage, Lt. Pierpont says you should be aware of certain things, like ensuring the business has its license posted on its wall.
“Do your homework before you go there, and if you are not seeing the normal things you would see at a legitimate business, walk out,” Lt. Pierpont said. “If you are being treated in a particular manner, walk out.”
