Acupuncture

Hi, I suffer from Depression, among other things It has been suggested that I try acupuncture. I have my first appointment next Tuesday. Does anyone know anything about this and does it hurt and will it help me?

Would appreciate any feedback.

If they do it properly, and 'hit the right spot' so to speak, then yes, it hurts a little, even though the needles are amazingly thin. If the needle goes in a point that isn't relevant to your condition, you won't feel it. That's how you know that they are doing it properly. It can feel like a small electric shock, or a bruise. Once the needle's in, you may feel tingly, or it may feel warm. When I used to have it done, it used to relax me and energise me at the same time. I used to feel great after a treatment. I'm sure you'll gain some benefit from it. They may give you herbs as well.

Yes, some points may be painfull, but they hurt less with time, as your energy gets more balanced.
