Chair Massage in a Barber Shop

Was wondering if anyone has experience with doing chair massage in a barber shop.

This shop has 8 Barbers...stays very busy..Has a space/seperate room visable to the main floor where people can see some one getting a session.

Thinking of doing the traditional $1min-10min min/20 min max. May also include hand massage and do an exfoliating treatment, maybe add paraffin dip..and also use cool neck packs as added touch.

Went by to talk to the owner, he is open to start on trial basis next week. I stayed and did demo's for barbers for a 90 min..they tipped VERY WELL!

There feed back was they felt would be a great added service and they would promote it to their clientele.

I currently have an office and take appts at a salon..but business has been crawling...so I'm going where the people are and see what happens.

I believe one of the members here actually runs her business from a barbershop. I think she is quite busy with it. Maybe her mom is the barber. Hopefully she will be around, to answer some more of your questions.

As for $1 per minute, read through some of the other CM threads and you will find that many around here think CM should be priced a little higher, (but you obviously know what the standard is in your area). Also if you are doing add on treatments, make sure to charge for them, unless you are using it for added value promotions.

My barber does chair massages without even asking. Usually get the shoulder, neck, and head rub for free.
