Do Scalp Massages really stimulate new hair growth?

I've heard that doing it daily will generate results within a couple months, but to me it sounds like bullsh*t.
And I'm asking if it generates "new" hair growth, not the effectiveness of growth of the hair that you already have.

It stimulates blood flow, and maximizes the potential hair growth
