How should I introduce myself to my friend's girlfriend.?

Obviously I going to say my name, but should I hug her or shake her hand. To be honest I think it's kind of weird shaking a girls hand in this type of situation.

Just say hi, and tell her your name.

It sort of depends on what you're doing and your age.

Shaking hands is pretty appropriate if you're an adult, a hug isn't really appropriate at any age unless she offers it first. If it's like an awkward first meeting I usually just say hello and give a polite wave. (Especially in a social situation with a few people)

Shake her hand or do whatever you do if he was introducing you to another guy friend because you want to shut the door on any possibility you might see her or she might see you in any other way than just friends.
