ISP recovers human trafficking victim at Normal massage spa - WEEK | 25 News Now | Peoria, IL

NORMAL (25News Now) - An Illinois State Police investigation resulted in the recovery of a person who had been trafficked.

On April 23, the Normal Police Department got a call for service from a massage spa in Normal. ISP would not disclose the specific location of the massage spa due to the ongoing investigation.

When Normal police officers arrived, they found a person at the spa who asked for help, saying they were a victim of human trafficking. Officers helped the victim and called state police for assistance.

ISP then executed a search warrant at the business.

The Bloomington Police Department has also increased efforts to crack down on businesses that are involved with illicit activities, including human trafficking. These multi-jurisdictional efforts are aimed at stopping human trafficking in McLean County.

The incident is under investigation.
