Ying He (Kandiyohi County County Jail)
WILLMAR, Minn. – A judge suspended criminal proceedings against a Willmar massage business owner facing a prostitution charge and ordered that the woman undergo an examination to see if she is competent to stand trial.
55-year-old Ying He, owner of Massage Therapy, is charged with a felony count of soliciting or inducing someone to commit prostitution, and gross misdemeanor counts of operating a disorderly House and 5th degree assault.
She was arrested March 9 after allegedly instructing an employee to perform sex acts on a customer, then beating her when the employee refused.
The district court judge ruled there was probable cause to proceed with the charges, but granted a defense motion to suspend proceedings and have Ye undergo a competency exam.
Ye remains jailed on $50,000 conditional bail.
