Precinct 4 arrests 2 women operating illegal massage parlor - KPRC Houston

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -Two women are facing prostitution and other charges after a massage parlor was the focus of a compliance inspection by the Harris County Pct. 4 Constables Office.
Authorities say that undercover officers had entered the Aroma Spa on the 2100 block of F.M. 1960 and were offered massage services and sexual services for a fee.
However, Aroma Spa is not a licensed massage establishment and employees are not licensed to offer or perform massage services, according to authorities.
Chong Cho, 59, faces misdemeanor charges of no Class 1 sexually oriented business permit and operating a massage establishment without a license. Her bond is set at $2,500.
Ok Yu, 61, is charged with prostitution. She is being held on $1,500 bond.
Precinct 4 Assistant Chief Deputy Tim W. Cannon released the following statement:
“Although there are many legitimate business owners who operate within the confines of the law, there are also those who choose to operate under the guise of being a legitimate massage establishment. They attempt to skirt the laws of the State of Texas and Harris County by posing as legitimate businesses while actually operating as modern day brothels. These particular operations often deal in the sex trade and human trafficking industry and move into local neighborhood strip centers, buildings and even residences. One of our many goals at Pct. 4 is to try to separate the good from the bad and hold those persons accountable who choose to operate outside of the legal parameters. This process is often very difficult and convoluted but we stay focused on our efforts to prevent their illegitimate behaviors.â€￾
