There was F/S at both (my experience: back in the day there wasn't anyone to share with).

I think I remember Ivy (slender, dark hair?); also Bree, Mandie, and a bunch of others I can visualize but not remember names.

Are thinking of Gentleman's Quarters on the second floor of Castaways? This was pushed as a private club for select Castaways' customers and they wanted a membership fee. I never joined so can't report direct experience but I do recall it was cited for F/S during the hearings when they shut things down (credit card fraud, not prostitution).

you have Roaxannes's and Sophia's reversed.

Sophia's was F/S. (near Jewelcor and East Mall)

Roaxanne's was R/T (off Derry Street); (same owners of both places)

Also, at Castaways, if you were a regular, then on the 2nd floor
rooms, you could get F/S. Do you remeber Ivy at Castaways at all?

Yes, Whirl-A-Sage is still open and going strong. It was closed down a few years ago, but that was due to a fire, not LE.

WAS is very reminiscent of the old R&T places that used to abound: usually a good selection of girls, most of whom have been there for a long time but no extras.

Sophia's in Hbg was an unusual experience; the girls commuted up from the South on a weekly basis and practiced a style of anal exploration that was typical to places I visited in NC & SC in the 80's. Other than that, no extras.

There were basically two classes of places in South Central PA in the 80's and early 90's: regular R&T (Sensations, Sensations II, Man's World, Castaway's, Majestic, Player's, Executive, Regency, VIP and others) and FS (Taj Mahal, Velvet Touch & Garden, Roxanne's, etc.). The girls at the R&T places were for the most part more attractive and less likely to be drug users. There were a few exceptions to this on both sides. I had many memorable experiences in most of the above.

One place in York was a very unusual experience: it was located next to the old "Oriole Club" (building was torn down and is now something else). It had an American staff, but included some AMP features: when you arrived there was a line up, you then took a shower and they put you in a Sauna. After the Sauna you were taken to a "table" in a somewhat open area, with high partitions separating the workspaces. The table top was made from "lawn chair" webbing that was stretched over a shallow tub and was at normal table height. The entire massage was given as a thorough table shower with rubbing and a variety of endings, usually BBBJ. It was great!!

I too loved Sensations in Lancaster if it's the one I have in mind. It's been over ten years since I left Lancaster. I'm thinking it was on Columbia Pike on the west side of Lancaster? That was another place where some blonde babe gave me a rare 3 cups in one session. Nice large whirlpool room there. I think the place lasted only a couple years in the mid-1990s.

I'm pretty sure the lighted 211 sign and the orange door was called Sophia's and was in Harrisburg just off Paxton Street. You had to go up the steps and buzz the door to get in. It was some of my first experiences with massage parlors. There used to be some very good massage options around Harrisburg. I believe someone mentioned them in an earlier post, but I have fond memories of Sophia's, Roxannes, Velvet Touch, and Sensations II. Also Sensations in Lancaster right beside the Blockbuster was very good.....I fondly remember Lisa there.

Is Whirl-a-Sage in Lancaster still open......anybody know?

The guy that owned Odyessey is in prison. If you google his name you can read the whole story. I dont know if I am allowed to post his name. The whole story is unbelieveable it had to do with under age girls, prostitution,drugs and a plot by his wife to have him murdered. One of the women I know writes him in prison I believe he is up for parole soon. From what I read it seems like every time he's up for parole they hit him with another charge ane keep him in.

I was unaware of the bad owner at Odyessey and the 2-way mirrors. Maybe Courtney was telling me the truth after I asked her why she NC/NS'd me on the only take-out date we had made (she had said she'd meet me in the parking lot after her shift ended or something like that). I think she said either the owner or manager had told her she had to stay OT to service a VIP-type client or something. This was pre-cellphones. Still, I had given her my home phone and she never called it either before or within a couple days after to apologize which led me to believe she did not mind flaking on me. (I was - and am - a bachelor so no SO worries and I think she knew I was single).

Somehow though, she always seemed to know when I had picked someone else from the lineup while she was busy with an earlier client! She'd smile and wag her finger at me, saying I should've waited with other mongers in the lobby til she was done, etc. She'd do that either on my next visit or if I saw her in the hallway, etc. Try to make me feel guilty!

elixir is right, it was pretty much hit-or-miss back then and probably more dangerous as well. (Speaking of latex gloves, I had one of those about a year ago at X-streams!)

Straycat, I like the Moody Blues story; I never actually had "take-out", but almost a couple of times or at least I wanted to! It seems that there was more likelihood to get "attached" to particular girls.

One more story: I had a newbie at Odyessey once who, in the middle of the massage (I was on my back at the time) said, "This is for me" and before I knew what was happening, she mounted me for CG (uncovered was I!). I hesitated but, given how hot she was, I just rode it for all it was worth, young and stupid as I was. I worried for weeks about STDs. yes, I have heard relatively the same stuff about the owner of Odyessey....I'll correct my spelling, now that I see it spelled that way, I remember it also.

But don't get too disappointed sonnyman....today's world has the internetzzz, and whole host of other possibilities that didn't exist back in the early 80's.

hell, with all the reviews and info available today (esp. on this sort of site) you really should be able to make informed decisions and very rarely get burned.

I remember getting into a few "pickles" with some undesirable girls back in the day because it was trial and error....we didn't have reviews posted outside the places to make better decisions.

You know how that goes....girls who use latex gloves, never sure about what's offered if you were new or not a frequent customer, girls who had bad odors...you get the idea.

I personally know three women that worked at Odyessey and they told me the guy that owned the place was SICK. He would weigh the girls and if he felt they were overweight he would fine them. Good observation re: Odyessey. Yes, I too recall the odd spelling but never put it together as you did. I was a regular of a buxom, long-haired biker-type chick there named "Courtney." We'd sing Moody Blues songs together before I'd do her Russian..how corny is that? I tried to arrange take-out with her once but she NC/NS on me, claiming boss made her work OT, yada yada. She later cried when I told her I intended to quit since I wanted to be loyal to a new girlfriend in Lancaster, claiming she'd like another chance at takeout with me, etc. Yeah, right. A little point of trivia. The "Odyessey" in Reading was spelled that way, with the word "yes" hidden in there. I always found that whimsical.

I also remember VIP (closer to Denver/Ephrata on 222, right?) as well as the place behind Fred's Music.

And Aurora on 422; I was sorry when that place closed.

You guys really know how to depress a man. Im only 37 & I feel like i missed out on the "golden age" of massage parlors. I live in the Hershey area, so, what it looks like to me, is I either go to Lancaster or Reading & take my chances, or keep hobbying for the "sure thing"? It's been some 15 years since I trekked up 222 regularly so my geography is hazy. I guess it's Shillington since I just Mapquested it before posting this post. Specifically, like West Lancaster Avenue before the split with Philadelphia Avenue, there was one block with two or three parlors, including The Harem. The Harem was a half block above West Lancaster Ave. off an alley (aren't they all?). These places all gave you a line-up.
Follow the girl upstairs with a great view of her as you followed her up the stairs. One late teens girl named "Chelsa" there dazzled me several times as she dressed like a Middle Eastern harem girl. Another girl there gave me a rare "3 cups" in one amazing session (I had that in me in those days I guess). Whirlpool sessions there were amazing. The place only was there about a year or two circa 1993?

Another place was near the NE corner of Museum Ave and W. Lancaster next to a gas station - had a large lot in the back. I used to keep a checklist of girls I'd had there as I was such a regular. I forget the name of it - not affiliated with the Regency, VIP, etc.

Not sure if Sensations 2 was the place on Eisenhower Blvd down off the roadway there?
