This pandemic is not about arguing the fucking definition of the word vaccine, if you are so butt hurt about it, take a plane or boat to England and slap the Oxford morons that introduced the word. Before you slap anyone, be aware that, words CONSTANTLY evolve to change in meaning. If the new definition of vaccine becomes "provides immunity OR moderate levels of protection," suck it the fuck up or become a linguist.

Good points, as usual. We obviously have some nuanced perspectives and disagree on others.

I’ll go as far as saying everyone should do their research, assess their risk factors, and get the vaccine accordingly. But I’m completely fine with people, regardless of their risk factors, refusing to get vaccinated. If we don’t have bodily autonomy, what do we have? One day you’ll be forced to do something you don’t want to do.

Anecdotal, but here’s something interesting about natural immunity. I was talking to a friend yesterday that I spent the evening with the night before I had full blown Covid symptoms. I asked her if she ended up getting sick or anything. She said she got nothing. She had Covid last year, probably delta, possibly alpha. Even though I contact traced her at the time, I was very happy she didn’t end up get sick. Very impressive that after a year she was not affected at all. YYMV, though, as we say in here.

I didn't state it explicitly in my last post, so let me be clear. im also against mandatory vaccinations. they aren't a good idea for a number of reasons. however, I am prepared to change my mind on this if evidence showed the unvaccinated do pose a disproportionate threat to the health of others. if you dont want the vaccine, that's your business as far as I'm concerned.
