Browsing antivaxx conspiracy theories videos and articles for fun, I got hit by an ad that I found hilarious on Youtube.



The video spent an inordinate amount of time trying to convince "average" Americans that the government was trying to get rid of their cash. I listened intently because I could tell this is fake news article, where an "expert" is acting in front of the camera to portray validity to his "advertising."



I found it astounding that this guy would even copy the look of the biggest conman of our day, Doctor Robert Malone. Is that the new fashion? To have a beard and white hair, automatically gives you credibility with the conspiracy theory crowd. Duly noted.



He even paid the video producer to make it seem like an "interview" because most naive conspiracy theorists, they can be fooled by literal smoke and mirrors. If they are sitting on a glass table with a nice coffee mug, well, it must be a legitimate television studio of a reputable media outlet. T

The interview was hilarious, how this Doc Malone lookalike would build up the issue towards his sales pitch, and the "reporter" would ask the right leading questions and the "expert" would say "funny you ask that" "that's a great question"



I didn't even get till the end of the video, then I clicked on the link. How shocked I was, an immediate call to action with an urgent underlined message, and in the yellow button the "hope" and solution to the problem the expert has presented us. Sounds like "mass formation psychosis" is just another way of describing modern day telemarketing and con schemes,



The website full of misinformation to reinforce the fear created by the video, and then...



The panacea of all financial issues, specially the one that our expert formed in our minds, it can all be solved for only $49? Normally he would charge $199 but because he is extra generous to the conspiracy theorists, he is giving up $150 of "perceived" value. How lucky are you antivaxxers?

I pity all the people who are being predated upon by opportunists like this guy and Doc Malone. Doc Malone won't stop at the book, I am just waiting to see what he will start selling next, I bet you it will be vitamins. Vitamins is the space where all the smart folks using and abusing antivaxxers make the most profit.

This is one of those nonliteral things that your brain tries to interpret literally and has a helluva time trying to make sense of it, and ultimately fails.

Right on, you cannot help but feel compassion for that kind of person. One other person earlier in this thread mentioned that they were vaccine hesitant because of preexisting health conditions that could become worsened by the vaccine; I take that as a very valid reason to not get vaccinated.

Absolutely. And being a cancer patient is a factor for sure. Apparently his oncologist wants him to get vaccinated, and I suspect he will in time.
